Friday 21 August at 9am will be declared ‘Autism Hour’, with a goal to reach as many people as possible to make them aware of autism spectrum disorders and their prevalence.
1 in 160* Australians have an autism spectrum disorder, for which as yet there is no cure.
Autism Hour is about showing your support for the people affected by this lifelong disorder, by entering your details on a dedicated website:
Autism Hour is an initiative of the Asia Pacific Autism Conference (APAC 09) where over 1500 people will be gathered representing the number of people diagnosed each year in Australia with an autism spectrum disorder. Those attending APAC 09 will receive an sms shortly before 9am as follows:
“Autism Hour starts 9am – show your support & go NOW to www.autismhour.com.au. Please fwd this sms to ALL your family, friends and colleagues.”
The message of Autism Hour also fits in with the theme of the conference ‘Connecting Today – Inspiring Tomorrow’.
We want everyone to join in, whether you are attending APAC 09 or not, so please forward this message on to as many people as possible and in so doing you will be helping support ‘Autism Hour’.
