Autism Asperger ACT Inc. is committed to improving the understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) within the local community and the effect upon families / carers of a person with ASD. We aim to provide support for those families through sharing our time and the information we have on this disability. We strive to achieve the best educational outcomes for our children while seeking to better understand the causes of their autism in a mutually supportive group.
ASD include Autistic Disorder (Childhood Autism in the ICD-10), Asperger's Disorder/syndrome and Pervasive Development Disorder - not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS). They are neuro-biological disorders that affect the way people communicate, socialise, process information and adapt to (or interact with) their environment.
Autism Asperger ACT Inc. is a non-profit, parent run organisation which relies on the voluntary work of its members. It does not receive government funding for its running.
