Bubble Day - Autism Awareness Month

Posted in

Autism Asperger ACT invites schools to participate in Bubble Day in the ACT (see the website http://users.bigpond.com/teepee3/bubbles) to be held during the week beginning 18 May, Autism Awareness Month. An Information Pack specially created for Bubble Day and a pamphlet are available.

Autism Asperger ACT promotes awareness and understanding of autism in the ACT educational community. As a pilot project this year, we want to involve primary and preschools with Special Education Units and Special Schools.

We can send an information pack and pamphlet to your school about autism spectrum disorders (or you can down load them from http://users.bigpond.com/teepee3/bubbles/Bubble_Day_Information_Pack_2009.pdf and http://autismaspergeract.com.au/sites/default/files/for%20kids%20eyes%20only.pdf). The information is suitable for students, teachers and parents, as well as notes about the benefits of bubble blowing for autistic children and those with speech articulation problems. We will also send a list of suggested bubble blowing activities suitable for a range of ages and abilities which your school may choose to use on Bubble Day.

More information is available in the attached letter and on the Bubble Day website (http://users.bigpond.com/teepee3/bubbles).
